Conlan's Baby Blog

Welcome to Conlan's Baby Blog!

I created this to blog to share pictures and milestones with family and friends, as our little boy grows this year.

If you are not familiar with how blogs work, you can navigate through different pages by clicking on their titles at the right of the screen. For example: On the right of the screen under the Blog Archive, click on "Welcome to Conlan's Baby Blog". If it isn't showing up, click on the month June and it should show up then. Under the Blog Archive list there are other titles you can click on, such as "Conlan's Birth Story". Each title will bring you to a different page that will include a brief summary of what has gone on and pictures.

Baby Conlan's Third Month

Baby Conlan’s Third Month
As I type this our little monkey is exactly 9 weeks old.  It has been both an exciting week and a tough one.  Conlan is smiling a lot more and he recognizes both myself and his daddy.  His weight at the beginning of this week almost 12 pounds (11lbs 12 oz to be exact)!  He has been out of his newborn clothes for a couple of weeks, but that is not surprising because our little man has quite the appetite.  He has discovered that his hands are more fun to play with than any toy we could buy him and he is staying up for longer stretches during the day.  He is a very calm baby most of the time, except for when you talk to him.  He gets very excited, smiley and tries to respond.  He loves it when I cradle him, but if daddy is around he prefers to lay facing down on Gavin’s chest.  He get’s cozy and falls right to sleep.  Dad apparently has the magic touch!

Conlan Met Grandpa Tony and Grandma Shelly this past weekend.  It was a wonderful visit and we appreciated Grandma taking over many of the feedings and diaper changes for us!  It was a nice vacation from our duties as we got to sit back and sleep in.  Grandpa helped Gavin get our pool ready for Conlan's first swim, which we are also thankful for.  It is chlorinated and ready to go as soon as the water gets a little warmer.
The tough part of our week was harder on me than Conlan.  Maternity Leave ended and I am back to work, which means I had to give my baby up to a childcare provider.  Luckily, we have a wonderful friend that we know and trust who is caring for our precious baby 2-3 times per week when Gavin can’t work from home.  She is wonderful and we value her experience and loving nature.  I am praying it works out and she doesn’t decide to permanently stay in the Florida Keys during her upcoming vacation!
It is still hard not being with him during the day though.  I miss him tremendously.  Why can’t we win the lottery!
